Pricing for Beginners: What Should Your First Package Cost?

Pricing is the biggest uncertainty for most beginners: too low and you look unserious or leave money on the table; too high and nobody buys your first package before you've built any trust or reviews.

The most common beginner mistake

Extremely low entry prices (to "somehow get first buyers") usually hurt more than they help: they attract bargain hunters instead of loyal buyers, and are hard to raise later without upsetting existing customers.

Practical guidelines

  • Digital single packages (photo set, short video): a realistic starting point is the low double digits, depending on scope and niche.
  • Physical items: factor in effort and shipping, not just "what the item is worth" - material, time, and postage all count.
  • Custom requests: price higher than standard packages, since they directly consume your time.

Adjusting prices is normal

You don't have to lock in your first price forever. Watch how fast a package sells and adjust gradually - small steps upward rather than one big price jump.
