TikTok & Instagram as Traffic Sources: What's Allowed, What Isn't
TikTok and Instagram can bring huge reach - but both have strict rules against direct adult-content advertising. Ignore that and you risk a ban, often without warning.
What these platforms don't allow
Direct links to adult-content sales pages in your bio, explicit preview content, or clear calls-to-action ("more on my OnlyFans") frequently lead to bans - regardless of how tame the rest of your content is.
What works instead
- Personality-focused rather than content-focused posts (daily life, humor, aesthetics) build a fanbase without breaking rules
- A neutral link-in-bio that first leads to your own landing page is less conspicuous than a direct link
- Building community in the comments instead of pure advertising - genuine interaction gets rewarded by algorithms, pure ads tend to get suppressed
Use a separate account
Never use the same login or phone number for your business account as your private one - a ban on your business account shouldn't be able to endanger your private account.
For a compliant alternative with a more direct promotional angle, Reddit often works better - see our Reddit marketing without getting banned guide.
